River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Chester. * WHEN...Until early Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Unleveed islands near Chester and the prison farm floods. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 28.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 PM CDT Saturday was 28.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.5 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
