DESCRIPTION: A slow moving low pressure system with plenty of moisture will affect the flood watch area through Saturday with periods of heavy rainfall. Since several locations in New Hampshire and portions of Maine have wet antecedent conditions, areas of flooding will be possible late Friday through Saturday night with one and a half to three inches of rain expected. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of western Maine, including the following area, Southern Oxford and New Hampshire, including the following areas, Belknap, Cheshire, Eastern Hillsborough, Merrimack, Northern Carroll, Northern Grafton, Southern Carroll, Southern Grafton, Sullivan and Western And Central Hillsborough. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
