DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Pottawatomie Creek near Garnett affecting Anderson County. Marais Des Cygnes River near Quenemo affecting Osage and Franklin Counties. Marais Des Cygnes River above Reading affecting Lyon and Osage Counties. Pottawatomie Creek at Lane affecting Franklin County. Marais Des Cygnes River at Ottawa affecting Franklin County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Marais Des Cygnes River above Reading. * WHEN...Until late tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Low lying areas along the river flood. At 21.0 feet, County Road Y 5 near the gage floods, 3 miles north of Reading. At 23.0 feet, Overlow on the right bank is in several swift channels over Road Y 5, 3 miles north of Reading. At 25.7 feet, Water overtops the bridge deck. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 24.1 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

The final form taken by a growing cumulus cloud is the cumulonimbus cloud, which is very tall and dense. The tower of a cumulonimbus cloud can soar 23 km into the atmosphere, although most commonly they stop growing at an altitude of 6 km.

Even small cumulonimbus clouds appear very large in comparison to other cloud types. They can signal the approach of stormy weather, such as thunderstorms or blizzards.
