DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following river in Indiana... White River at Hazleton and Petersburg. .Prior locally heavy rainfall of 1.5 to 3 inches along the lower White River has led to minor flooding at Petersburg and Hazleton. Flooding is expected to end Friday morning. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...White River at Hazleton. * WHEN...Until Friday evening. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, Flood water is near or starting on Pottsville Road. Low bottomlands are increasingly affected by flood waters. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - There is no current observed data. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Freezing rain is a condition where precipitation which has fallen in the form of
water droplets reaches temperatures which are below freezing and freezes upon
coming into contact
with surface objects. The result of this precipitation is a glaze of ice which
can be damaging to plants and man-made structures. A severe onset of freezing
rain which results in a very thick glaze of ice is known as an ice storm.

Hail is a form of precipitation which is recognized by large solid balls or
clumps of ice. Hail is created by thunderstorm clouds with strong updrafts of wind.
As the hailstones remain in the updraft, ice is deposited onto them until their
