For the Neches River...including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto, Diboll, Rockland...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River near Diboll. * WHEN...From Sunday morning to Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs. Expect flooded boat ramps and trails. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 11.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Sunday morning to a crest of 12.1 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 12.1 feet on 05/21/1956. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Freezing rain is a condition where precipitation which has fallen in the form of
water droplets reaches temperatures which are below freezing and freezes upon
coming into contact
with surface objects. The result of this precipitation is a glaze of ice which
can be damaging to plants and man-made structures. A severe onset of freezing
rain which results in a very thick glaze of ice is known as an ice storm.

Hail is a form of precipitation which is recognized by large solid balls or
clumps of ice. Hail is created by thunderstorm clouds with strong updrafts of wind.
