DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of central and south central Nebraska, including the following counties, in central Nebraska, Sherman. In south central Nebraska, Buffalo, Dawson, Gosper, Kearney and Phelps. * WHEN...Until 430 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1018 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated ongoing or soon-to-occur heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This is causing or will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in parts of the Advisory area, and other parts of the area can also expect at least 1 to 2 inches of rain over the next few hours. - This includes, but is not limited to, the following streams and drainages... Oak Creek, East Branch Muddy Creek, North Dry Creek, Beaver Creek, Plum Creek, Cherry Creek, Buffalo Creek, Crooked Creek, Sand Creek, Mud Creek, Turkey Creek, East Branch Turkey Creek, Dry Creek, West Branch Turkey Creek, Prairie Creek, Elm Creek, Clear Creek, Spring Creek, Elk Creek. - Some locations that could experience flooding include... INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
