Illinois River near Tahlequah affecting Cherokee County. Illinois River at Chewey affecting Adair, Delaware and Cherokee Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Illinois River near Watts. * WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, minor flooding occurs from the Arkansas border to near Fidler's Bend. Permanent campgrounds are affected. Extreme turbulence makes the river unsafe for floating. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 4.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow evening to a crest of 14.4 feet Tuesday morning. Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
