DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers in West Virginia... Virginia...Maryland... South Branch Potomac River near Springfield affecting Hardy and Hampshire Counties. Potomac River at Point of Rocks affecting Western Loudoun and Frederick MD zones. Potomac River at Little Falls affecting Central and Southeast Montgomery and Fairfax Counties. ...The Flood Watch is cancelled for the following rivers in Virginia... Rappahannock River at Remington affecting Southern Fauquier and Culpeper zones. For the Potomac River...including Paw Paw, Hancock, Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry, Point of Rocks, Edwards Ferry, Little Falls... flooding is possible. * WHAT...Flooding is possible. * WHERE...Potomac River at Point of Rocks. * WHEN...From late Wednesday night until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Water begins to cover the C&O Canal towpath near Point of Rocks and Brunswick. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:45 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 3.2 feet, or 12.8 feet below flood stage. - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached early Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.

Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall, becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds. When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
