DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina... Cape Fear River At Elizabethtown affecting Bladen County. Cape Fear River At William O Huske Lock And Dam 3 affecting Cumberland and Bladen Counties. Lumber River Near Lumberton affecting Robeson County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cape Fear River at Elizabethtown. * WHEN...Until early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Floodwaters will affect farmers' fields adjacent to the river requiring the movement of farm equipment to higher ground. The lower part of Cape Owen Manor Road may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:25 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 26.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.4 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 25.0 feet. - weather.gov/safety/flood

INSTRUCTION: Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Condensation is the process which creates clouds, and therefore it is a crucial process in the water cycle. Condensation is the change of matter from a state of gas into a state of liquid, and it happens because water molecules release heat into the atmosphere and become organized into a more closely packed structure, what we might see as water droplets.

Water is always present in the air around us as a vapor, but it's too small for us to see. When water undergoes the process of condensation it becomes organized into visible water droplets. You've probably seen condensation happen before on the surface of a cold drink!

The final form taken by a growing cumulus cloud is the cumulonimbus cloud, which is very tall and dense. The tower of a cumulonimbus cloud can soar 23 km into the atmosphere, although most commonly they stop growing at an altitude of 6 km.

Even small cumulonimbus clouds appear very large in comparison to other cloud types. They can signal the approach of stormy weather, such as thunderstorms or blizzards.
