DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Iowa... North Skunk River near Sigourney affecting Keokuk County. Skunk River at Augusta affecting Lee, Des Moines and Henry IA Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...North Skunk River near Sigourney. * WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water affects most agricultural land near Sigourney. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 18.2 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 18.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.6 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.
