DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Louisiana...Mississippi...Arkansas... Mississippi River At Vicksburg affecting Madison, Claiborne, Jefferson, Warren and Tensas Counties. Mississippi River At Natchez affecting Wilkinson, Adams and Concordia Counties. Mississippi River Near Greenville affecting East Carroll, Issaquena, Washington and Chicot Counties. Mississippi River Near Arkansas City affecting Desha, Washington, Bolivar and Chicot Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Vicksburg. * WHEN...Until Wednesday, May 07. * IMPACTS...At 49.0 feet, The river reaches Hall Road at Cedars Road and the edge of Cedars School Circle on the west side in Vicksburg. Vicksburg Floodwall gate at China Street is closed. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 49.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Tuesday, May 06 and continue falling to 20.5 feet Tuesday, May 27. - Flood stage is 43.0 feet.

A fractus cloud (scud) is a fragmented, tattered cloud which has
likely been sheared off of another cloud. They are accessory clouds, meaning they
develop from parent clouds, and are named in a way which describes the original
cloud which contained them.
Fractus clouds which have originated from cumulus clouds are referred to as
cumulus fractus, while fractus clouds which have originated from stratus clouds
are referred to as stratus fractus. Under certain conditions a fractus cloud might
merge with another cloud, or develop into a cumulus cloud, but usually a
fractus cloud seen by itself will dissipate rapidly.
They are often observed on the leading and trailing edges of storm clouds,
and are a display of wind activity.

Graupel is a form of precipitation that is created by atmospheric conditions
which cause supercooled water droplets to contact snow crystals and freeze to
their surface.
Sometimes known as soft hail or snow pellets, graupel is delicate and easily
destroyed by touch. Whereas hail usually falls during severe weather, graupel
doesn't require such conditions to form, and can form in mild precipitation
similar to situations which produce snowfall.
