DESCRIPTION: At 656 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Powellsville, or near Ahoskie, moving south at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, half inch hail, and heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Powellsville around 700 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Proctors Corner and Trap.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
