DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Sierra County in New Mexico, including Cuchillo Creek. * WHEN...Until 800 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 453 PM MDT, Heavy rain has fallen from a slow moving thunderstorm between Chise and Cuchillo. Runoff from this rainfall will cause increased flows along Cuchillo Creek and side canyons, and may inundate low water crossings along Farm Canyon Road and Cuchillo Creek Road through this evening. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
