AREAS AFFECTED: Western Columbia Basin
DESCRIPTION: ...HOT, DRY, WINDY SUNDAY AND MONDAY... .Hot and dry conditions will be in place on Sunday. Westerly winds will increase through the day across the East Slopes and into the Western Columbia Basin. On Monday winds will shift out of the north to northwest as a cold front passes. The Okanogan Valley will be especially wind with gusts of 45-55 MPH possible. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Monday evening. * Affected Area: Western Columbia Basin (Zone 707). * Winds: Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * Relative Humidities: 15 to 23 percent. * Impacts: Rapid fire spread is likely with any new fires.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
