AREAS AFFECTED: Jefferson and West Douglas Counties Above 6000 Feet/Gilpin/Clear Creek/Northeast Park Counties Below 9000 Feet; Boulder And Jefferson Counties Below 6000 Feet/West Broomfield County; North Douglas County Below 6000 Feet/Denver/West Adams and Arapahoe Counties/East Broomfield County; Elbert/Central and East Douglas Counties Above 6000 Feet; Central and East Adams and Arapahoe Counties; North and Northeast Elbert County Below 6000 Feet/North Lincoln County
DESCRIPTION: At 854 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers extending from 6 miles north of Manila Village to over Arvada, or extending from 24 miles east of Denver to 11 miles northwest of Denver, moving south at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Thornton, Arvada, Westminster, Centennial, southwestern Broomfield, Highlands Ranch, northern Castle Rock, Commerce City, Parker, Littleton, Northglenn, Brighton, Englewood, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Greenwood Village and Superior.

back to the atmosphere, and is another crucial process in the water cycle.
Evaporation is the transformation of liquid into gas, and it happens because
molecules are excited by the application of energy and turn into vapor.
In order for water to evaporate it has to be on the surface of a body of water.

A fractus cloud (scud) is a fragmented, tattered cloud which has
likely been sheared off of another cloud. They are accessory clouds, meaning they
develop from parent clouds, and are named in a way which describes the original
cloud which contained them.
Fractus clouds which have originated from cumulus clouds are referred to as
cumulus fractus, while fractus clouds which have originated from stratus clouds
are referred to as stratus fractus. Under certain conditions a fractus cloud might
merge with another cloud, or develop into a cumulus cloud, but usually a
fractus cloud seen by itself will dissipate rapidly.
They are often observed on the leading and trailing edges of storm clouds,
and are a display of wind activity.
