DESCRIPTION: FFWEPZ The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... West Central El Paso County in western Texas... * Until 1100 PM MDT. * At 908 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... West El Paso, Central El Paso, Northeast El Paso, Sunland Park and Franklin Mountains State Park. The most significant impacts are occuring in west-central El Paso near the University of Texas-El Paso. Avoid Mesa Street near UTEP and Paisano Drive at Executive.
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.
