AREAS AFFECTED: Cochise, AZ
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of Southeast Arizona, including the following county, central Cochise. * WHEN...Until 800 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 559 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Fivemile Creek, Haberstock Wash, Indian Creek, Big Bend Creek, Slavin Wash, Dragoon Wash, Henderson Wash, West Whitetail Creek, Clifford Wash, Witch Creek, Keating Creek, Wood Canyon, Stanford Creek, Silver Creek, Ash Creek, East Whitetail Creek, Reeves Creek, O B Draw, East Turkey Creek, Leslie Creek, Big Sand Wash, Walnut Wash, Rucker Canyon, Pridham Creek, Turkey Creek, Pinery Creek, South Fork Keating Creek, Whitewater Draw, Gadwell Canyon, Willow Wash, San Simon River, Cave Creek, Walnut Gulch and Onion Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
