DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Norman OK has issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers in Texas...Oklahoma... Red River near Terral affecting Clay, Montague, Jefferson and Love zones. * WHAT...Flooding is possible. * WHERE...Red River near Terral. * WHEN...From Thursday morning to Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Crop and range lands... pecan groves and rural roads are affected. Weak points in agricultural levees may be overtopped. Though not flooded... some low-lying areas near the river may be isolated by high water in side channels. Bottomlands near Charlie Texas begin to flood several hours before the crest approaches the Terral Oklahoma area. The flood crest reaches the Illinois bend area near Leon Oklahoma several hours later. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 18.4 feet. - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached late Thursday morning. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Freezing rain is a condition where precipitation which has fallen in the form of
water droplets reaches temperatures which are below freezing and freezes upon
coming into contact
with surface objects. The result of this precipitation is a glaze of ice which
can be damaging to plants and man-made structures. A severe onset of freezing
rain which results in a very thick glaze of ice is known as an ice storm.

Hail is a form of precipitation which is recognized by large solid balls or
clumps of ice. Hail is created by thunderstorm clouds with strong updrafts of wind.
As the hailstones remain in the updraft, ice is deposited onto them until their
weight becomes heavy enough for them to fall to the earth's surface.
Hail storms can cause significant damage to crops, aircrafts, and man-made structures,
despite the fact that the duration is usually less than ten minutes.
