AREAS AFFECTED: Foothills and Valleys of the North Cascades; Foothills and Valleys of Snohomish and Northern King Counties; Foothills and Valleys of Central King County; Foothills and Valleys of Pierce and Southern King Counties; Foothills and Valleys of Thurston and Lewis Counties; Downtown Everett / Marysville Area; Shoreline / Lynnwood / South Everett Area; Eastside; City of Seattle; Lowlands of Pierce and Southern King Counties; Olympia and Southern Puget Sound; Lowlands of Lewis and Southern Thurston Counties; Southern Hood Canal; Northern Hood Canal; Eastern Kitsap County
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...High temperatures in the 80s to lower 90s with mid 90s possible in the Cascade Valleys. This will pose a moderate risk of heat-related illness. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Washington. * WHEN...From 10 AM Sunday to 10 PM PDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Very warm temperatures will significantly increase the risk of heat related illnesses for those who are sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Water temperatures, including area lakes and rivers, remain cold (in the upper 40s and 50s) which significantly increases the risk of cold shock and drowning, even for confident swimmers in calm water. Cold water drains body heat up to 25 times faster than cold air.
INSTRUCTION: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. A wall cloud forms underneath the base of a cumulonimbus cloud,
and can be a hotbed for deadly tornadoes.
Wall clouds are formed by air flowing into the cumulonimbus clouds, which can
result in the wall cloud descending from the base of the cumulonimbus cloud, or
rising fractus clouds which join to the base of the storm cloud as the wall cloud
takes shape.
Wall clouds can be very large, and in the Northern Hemisphere they generally
form at the southern edge of cumulonimbus clouds.

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
