DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Virginia, including the following areas, Albemarle, Augusta, Central Virginia Blue Ridge, Eastern Highland, Greene, Madison, Nelson, Northern Virginia Blue Ridge, Page, Rappahannock, Rockingham, Shenandoah, Warren and Western Highland and eastern West Virginia, including the following areas, Eastern Grant, Eastern Pendleton, Hardy, Western Grant and Western Pendleton. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A prolonged period of moderate to heavy rain showers with embedded thunderstorms is expected through this evening. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are likely, with locally higher amounts possible along the eastern slopes of the Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains. This rainfall may lead to scattered instances of flooding. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
