DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Kansas... Slate Creek At Wellington affecting Sumner and Cowley Counties. Little Arkansas River At Alta Mills affecting Harvey and Reno Counties. Cottonwood River near Florence affecting Marion County. Whitewater River at Towanda affecting Butler County. Little Arkansas River Near Halstead affecting Harvey County. Whitewater River at Augusta affecting Cowley and Butler Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Little Arkansas River at Alta Mills. * WHEN...From Wednesday morning to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, About a 500 ft wide overflow may be expected across Highway 50, located about 6 miles south of the gage site around River Park Road. Directly south of the gage expect the low lying area to be inundated for a few miles. North of the gage, overflow may be about half mile wide. Expect fields and cropland to be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 4.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 24.9 feet early Thursday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
INSTRUCTION: Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued this evening at 1145 PM CDT.

A wall cloud forms underneath the base of a cumulonimbus cloud,
and can be a hotbed for deadly tornadoes.
Wall clouds are formed by air flowing into the cumulonimbus clouds, which can
result in the wall cloud descending from the base of the cumulonimbus cloud, or
rising fractus clouds which join to the base of the storm cloud as the wall cloud
takes shape.
Wall clouds can be very large, and in the Northern Hemisphere they generally
form at the southern edge of cumulonimbus clouds.

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
