AREAS AFFECTED: Upper Smith

DESCRIPTION: ...SCATTERED DRY LIGHTNING IS LIKELY MONDAY AND TUESDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS THE INTERIOR MOUNTAINS... .A pulse of moisture moving up the Central Valley combined with very hot and dry surface conditions and moderate easterly winds will combined to form scattered, mostly dry thunderstorms over Trinity, Humboldt, and Del Norte counties Monday. Some isolated nocturnal redevelop is possible tonight. Scattered thunderstorms will redevelop Tuesday. These storms will be slower moving to stationary and are most likely to form over Trinity, Northern Mendocino and possibly Del Norte. Storms may also originate in northern Lake County. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zone 203. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty and erratic outflow winds are possible up to 50 mph. * IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

INSTRUCTION: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
