DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Chilton and Shelby. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Small stream flooding may lead to water over roadways and areal flooding near Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road in Shelby County and along Walnut Creek above Clanton in Chilton County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 959 AM CDT, Gauge reports from Walnut Creek above Clanton and Cahaba Valley Creek at Indian Trail Road indicated small stream flooding is ongoing due to additional heavy rainfall of 2 to 3 inches overnight. - Some locations near these small stream basins that may experience flooding include... Hoover, Alabaster, Pelham, Calera, Chelsea, Clanton, Columbiana, Jemison, Wilsonville, Indian Springs Village, Thorsby, Harpersville, Westover, Lay Lake, Gap Of The Mountain, Mitchell Lake, Oak Mountain State Park, Higgins Ferry Park, Highland Lakes and Mount Laurel.
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
