DESCRIPTION: FFWAKQ The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Camden County in northeastern North Carolina... Northwestern Currituck County in northeastern North Carolina... Central Pasquotank County in northeastern North Carolina... * Until 700 PM EDT. * At 350 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Currituck, Elizabeth City, Camden, Elizabeth City State University, Indiantown, Whitehall Shores, Gregory, Belcross, Shawboro, Bartlett, Taylors Beach, Spences Corner, Sligo, Maple and Barco.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
