DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Texas... Frio River Below Dry Frio affecting Uvalde County. * WHAT...No flooding is currently forecast. * WHERE...Frio River below Dry Frio. * WHEN...Until late this evening. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Overbank conditions. No significant impact. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 7.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 8.1 feet late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
