DESCRIPTION: FFWLZK The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northern Polk County in western Arkansas... Southwestern Scott County in western Arkansas... * Until 1100 PM CDT. * At 753 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen within the past hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area over the next hour. Flash flooding is likely ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
