Grand River at Grand Rapids affecting Kent County. ...The Flood Watch is replaced by a River Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan... Grand River at Ionia affecting Ionia County. .Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches has fallen in the past 24 hours on already saturated soil causing rivers to rise. Minor river flooding is possible. * WHAT...Flooding is possible. * WHERE...Grand River at Ada. * WHEN...From Monday morning to Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 21.6 feet, 500 parking spaces in the Alticor Inc. parking lot are inundated and one gate into the Alticor Inc. complex is closed due to the high water. A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an aircraft.

Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails are called exhaust contrails.

Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation. These are called aerodynamic contrails.

When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation. The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
