DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Ogeechee River at Midville. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon to Friday evening. * IMPACTS...At 6.0 feet, the access road into the River Bluff community in Midville floods. The lower portion of Johnson Road near Herndon is also flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1000 PM EDT Monday, the stage was 4.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Tuesday afternoon to a crest of 6.6 feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Friday morning. - Flood stage is 6.0 feet.

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.

an observable effect on rainfall, due to an effect called the urban heat island.
Compared to upwind, monthly rainfall between twenty and forty miles downwind of
cities is 30% greater.
