Northern Randall County in the Panhandle of Texas... Southeastern Oldham County in the Panhandle of Texas... Carson County in the Panhandle of Texas... Northeastern Deaf Smith County in the Panhandle of Texas... Potter County in the Panhandle of Texas... * Until 1245 AM CDT. * At 1151 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 5 miles west of Groom to 5 miles north of Lake Tanglewood to 5 miles north of Umbarger, moving north at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to roofs, siding, and trees is possible. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. * Locations impacted include... Panhandle, Amarillo, Mescalero Park, Bushland, Pantex, Lake Tanglewood, Timbercreek Canyon, Washburn, Wildorado, and Canyon.

Freezing rain is a condition where precipitation which has fallen in the form of
water droplets reaches temperatures which are below freezing and freezes upon
coming into contact
with surface objects. The result of this precipitation is a glaze of ice which
can be damaging to plants and man-made structures. A severe onset of freezing
rain which results in a very thick glaze of ice is known as an ice storm.

Hail is a form of precipitation which is recognized by large solid balls or
clumps of ice. Hail is created by thunderstorm clouds with strong updrafts of wind.
As the hailstones remain in the updraft, ice is deposited onto them until their
