DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Connecticut... Connecticut River At Middle Haddam affecting Middlesex County. Connecticut River At Hartford affecting Middlesex and Hartford Counties. For the Connecticut River...including Montague, Northampton, Holyoke Dam, Holyoke, Springfield, Thompsonville, Hartford, Middle Haddam... Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Connecticut River at Middle Haddam. * WHEN...Until late Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 9.5 feet, Flooding closes most of Meadow Road, Route 17A, in the Gildersleeve section of Portland. Flooding impacts the Middletown Marina and Meadow Farms. In Cromwell, portions of River Road will be closed. In Rocky Hill, parts of Meadow Road will be impassable for a time. Flooding continues along the river southward through Essex. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:55 PM EDT Monday the stage was 8.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:55 PM EDT Monday was 9.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 8.9 feet late tonight. It will then fall below flood stage to 6.9 feet early Wednesday afternoon. It will rise to flood stage early Wednesday afternoon. It will then fall to 6.3 feet early Thursday morning. Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
