DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Arkansas...Oklahoma... Arkansas River at Van Buren affecting Sebastian and Crawford Counties. Arkansas River near Muskogee affecting Muskogee County. Arkansas River at Ozark Lock and Dam affecting Franklin, Logan and Johnson Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Arkansas River at Van Buren. * WHEN...Until early Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, minor lowland flooding occurs along the shoreline from the I-540 bridge east towards Lavaca. Some rural roads near Lavaca may be impassable. Parts of Kelley Park northwest of downtown Fort Smith experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:00 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 22.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.2 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Tuesday evening. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes (between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes water vapor to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.

In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.

Cirrostratus clouds are high, thin clouds that form above 20,000 feet and are made mostly of ice crystals. They sometimes look like giant feathers, horse tails, or curls of hair in the sky. These clouds are pushed by the jet stream and can move at high speeds reaching 100 mph.
