DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures 99 to 102 degrees expected. This will pose a moderate to locally major risk of heat-related illness, especially on Monday. * WHERE...In Oregon, Central Oregon, John Day Basin, Foothills of the Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon, and North Central Oregon. In Washington, Simcoe Highlands. * WHEN...Until 10 PM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.
INSTRUCTION: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
