DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South Dakota... Big Sioux River near Brookings affecting Moody and Brookings Counties. Sixmile Creek near Brookings affecting Brookings County. Medary Creek near Medary affecting Brookings County. Big Sioux River near Bruce affecting Brookings County. Big Sioux River near Estelline affecting Hamlin and Brookings Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. This approaches or exceeds the flood of record. * WHERE...Sixmile Creek near Brookings. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 1634.0 feet, Water approaches the intersection of 1st Ave and Harvey Dunn St in Brookings and may begin to flood. Agricultural flooding begins northeast of Brookings including leaving the right bank of the creek at the Highway 30 crossing. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 1634.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:15 AM CDT Monday was 1635.1 feet. - Forecast...No forecast is available for this location. - Flood stage is 1634.0 feet. - Stay up to date with the latest river observations and forecasts at: www.water.noaa.gov

Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are
smaller than raindrops.
Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not
impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle,
a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface.
Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can
potentially result in hazardous road conditions.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
