DESCRIPTION: FFWIND The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern Knox County in southwestern Indiana... Southern Sullivan County in southwestern Indiana... * Until 800 AM EDT Tuesday. * At 1212 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 3.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Vincennes, Bicknell, Dugger, Carlisle, Oaktown, Bruceville, Sandborn, Edwardsport, Merom, Freelandville, Paxton, Pleasantville and Turtle Creek Reservoir.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.

Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall, becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds. When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
