DESCRIPTION: ...The National Weather Service in Pendleton OR has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Washington... Naches River near Naches affecting Yakima County. For the Naches River...including Cliffdell, Naches...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Naches River near Naches. * WHEN...From this evening to late Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Moderate flooding is possible from Cliffdell downstream to Yakima. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 PM PDT Wednesday the stage was 17.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 19.4 feet late Saturday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday evening to 17.3 feet late Tuesday morning. It will rise above flood stage to 18.1 feet Wednesday, March 25. It will then fall below flood stage again Thursday, March 26. - Flood stage is 17.8 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.0 feet on 11/30/1995. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Stratus clouds are similar to altostratus clouds, but form at a lower altitude and are identified by their fog-like appearance, lacking the distinguishing features of most clouds.

Stratus clouds are wider than most clouds, and their base has a smooth, uniform look which is lighter in color than a nimbostratus cloud. The presence of a stratus cloud indicates the possibility of minor precipitation, such as drizzle, but heavier precipitation does not typically arrive in the form of a stratus cloud.

Similar to cirrocumulus clouds, altocumulus clouds are characterized by cloud patches. They are distinguished by larger cloudlets than cirrocumulus clouds but are still smaller than stratocumulus clouds.

Altocumulus clouds most commonly form in middle altitudes (between 2 and 5 km) and may resemble, at times, the shape of a flying saucer. These uncommon formations, called altocumulus lenticularis, are created by uplift in the atmosphere and are most often seen in close proximity to mountains.
