Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Alexander, Union, Jackson, Perry, Cape Girardeau and Scott Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau. * WHEN...Until Thursday, May 16. * IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, The flood gate on Themis Street closes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 33.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 35.5 feet early Monday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Thursday, May 16. - Flood stage is 32.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and
may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud
is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.
Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall,
becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds.
When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
